Mrs. Lena's class

Just a little Introduction:

I am very excited to welcome you and your child to my Autism class at Connections! McKinley. My name is Lena Rajaphone, but your child will know me as Mrs. Lena.

I have been a teacher for 4 years. I have worked for our county programs the entire time I have been a teacher. I have worked with a wide range of students and I am completely passionate about early intervention and its long-term benefits for all students, Along with the wonderful staff I have, I am looking forward to great school year with your student.

I will be sending home with each student a colored folder that he/she may keep in his/her backpack; however, please check it daily for parent notices, information regarding services, teacher notes, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave me a note in the folder as well. Apart from this, the best way to contact me is through email at lrajaphone@sjcoe.net  or you may call my classroom number at (209) 292-2643. If I am unavailable during student school hours, I will make sure to get in contact with you as soon as possible. I also use the remind app; it is a free app that helps teachers communicate with parents in an easy way from your phone. If you are interested please let me know and I will send home more information.

I am truly looking forward to getting to know your child and absolutely want to be of service to you and your family. I hope to make this a safe, educational, and enjoyable academic year for your little loved one.

In our Class we use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)  programing which is an evidence base program. We work with the students individually with small and large group.

Here is a schedule of our day in class:

8:00-8:30- Arrival;/bathroom/arrival activities/structured tasks

8:45- Recess

9:00- Circle

9:15- Work Stations

10:55- Bathroom/ recess

11:15- Lunch

12:00- Circle/bathroom/early departure

12:15- recess

12:30- Work Stations/group work

1:30- Snack/Bathroom

2:00- Home/Departure

We start our day by 8:00am if for any reason you will be absent or late please contact me to let us know.
